Frameworks & Partnering

We work with local authorities and organisations as part of their framework and partnering systems.  Here’s a few examples.

Project: Salford Demolition Framework and Emergency Call Out
Client: Salford Council/Urban Vision
Value: £17m
Duration: Three years

Salford City is a regeneration model by which other cities measure themselves. Over the last 10 years, the Council has prioritised the regeneration of areas across the city and have put in place plans to continue this programme through investing in new developments and transforming the physical appearance of the city.

Scope of works

PP O’Connor has also been appointed as the sole contractor on the three-year Emergency Call Out contract to delivery emergency response services 24/7, 365 days a year.

Through a rigorous selection process, PP O’Connor, and five other contractors, has been appointed to the three year Framework which commenced in 2012, to deliver demolition services throughout the City.

Project: Bulk Excavation Framework
Client: Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council
Value: £300,000
Duration: Two years

PP O’Connor has been appointed by Tameside MBC under a framework agreement for two years.  Our works include the removal and recycle of redundant concrete lighting columns and formation of new access road and car park at a new retail development in Hyde.

Scope of works

Our works on the new access road and car park comprised the removal of approximately 15,000m3 with approximately 80% of selected materials suitable for re-use on site in the cut and fill exercise. Excavation and backfilling of road drainage and culvert works with pipe bedding and surround, and breaking out and removal of underground structures.

Project innovation

Through close collaboration with the team, PP O’Connor proposed and designed a remediation strategy to minimise disposal and reuse 80% of the materials on site. The materials were screened and re-graded for re-use, resulting in a 35% cost saving to the client and contributing to the projects overall carbon footprint through less loads off site to landfill.
