Peter O’Connor – Managing Director
In 1990, with just two wagons, Peter formed PP O’Connor Limited and has built the company into the successful business it is today. He is a forward-thinking leader with hands-on experience of all PP O’Connor’s capabilities with the operational knowledge to deliver a high quality service with value for money for our clients. He has recently completed his two year term as Chairman for the National Federation of Demolition Contractors’ North West region.
Christine O’Connor – Company Secretary
In 1990 Christine O’Connor became Company Secretary whilst heading up the finance department. She supported Peter O’Connor with the business following the untimely death of the founder. Christine’s responsibility has grown to include legal, compliance, and insurances for the business.
Charmaine O’Connor – Chief Executive
Having graduated from the University of Salford with a first class honours in Quantity Surveying, Charmaine developed her commercial skills during her 10 year employment with a major construction company. In 2003 Charmaine joined the family business as Commercial Director and brought with her extensive experience in both estimating and commercial expertise. This enabled her to offer value for money, open book accounting and cost certainty to clients identifying a business strategy to ensure that PP O’Connor’s business grows and develops at a sustainable speed. In 2014 Charmaine was promoted to the position of Chief Executive this new role has allowed her to concentrate on the strategic growth and business development of her family’s business which has been established for over 50 years.
Justin O’Connor – Logistics Director
Having developed skills and expertise through a small construction firm, Justin joined the company 23 years ago to further strengthen the family business, Justin has gained the right experience and accreditations necessary to lead our 110 directly employed operations team. Justin is responsible for site based operations including resourcing, quality, project delivery, value engineering and continuous improvement in both performance and methodology of works.
Chris Reilly – Commercial Director
Chris joined P. P. O’Connor as our new Commercial Director from his previous role as Group Commercial Director at a leading Civil Engineering Contractor where he spent 18 years. Chris has the ultimate responsibility for all commercial functions of the business, pre contract / tender appraisal and guidance and offering value for money and cost certainty to clients. Chris has vast experience of formal long term partnering contracts and modelling best practice whenever possible. Chris is also responsible for motivating, managing and the professional development / training of both the commercial and construction teams. He has recently been appointed by the RICS as a mentor and assessor at Senior Professional Level.
Mike Mortimer – Estimating Director
Having previously progressed within highly respected and specialist remediation and civil engineering companies in both Yorkshire and Lancashire, Mike joined P.P.O’Connor in May 2013 bringing more than 25 years of professional experience in projects involving activities such as specialist earthworks and remediation, civil engineering and structural steelwork, and pre- contract management. As Estimating Director, Mike leads his hard working, multi-tasking and dependable team who confidently adapt to the client’s needs including any necessary design and build requirement in order to provide a final and sustainable solution.
