Peter O’Connor

Chairman

In 1990, with just two wagons, Peter formed PP O’Connor Limited and has built the company into the successful business it is today. He is a forward-thinking leader with hands-on experience of all PP O’Connor’s capabilities with the operational knowledge to deliver a high quality service with value for money for our clients. He has recently completed his two year term as Chairman for the National Federation of Demolition Contractors’ North West region.

Charmaine O’Connor

Chief Executive

Having graduated from the University of Salford with a first class honours in Quantity Surveying, Charmaine developed her commercial skills during her 10 year employment with a major construction company. In 2003 Charmaine joined the family business as Commercial Director and brought with her extensive experience in both estimating and commercial expertise. This enabled her to offer value for money, open book accounting and cost certainty to clients identifying a business strategy to ensure that PP O’Connor’s business grows and develops at a sustainable speed. In 2014 Charmaine was promoted to the position of Chief Executive this new role has allowed her to concentrate on the strategic growth and business development of her family’s business which has been established for over 50 years.

Christine O’Connor

Company Secretary

In 1990 Christine O’Connor became Company Secretary whilst heading up the finance department.  She supported Peter O’Connor with the business following the untimely death of the founder. Christine’s responsibility has grown to include legal, compliance, and insurances for the business.

Steve Young

Commercial Director

Steve has over 25 years’ experience in commercial management across the construction and infrastructure sectors and holds full commercial responsibility for P.P. O’Connor’s commercial and procurement teams. His extensive expertise spans pre and post-contract management, framework, alliance delivery and the leadership of large commercial functions across the Power, Rail, Water and Natural Resources sectors. He began his career as a Quantity Surveyor on landmark infrastructure projects including the M6 Toll and Manchester Airport’s Second Runway, before progressing through senior commercial roles where he oversaw portfolios in excess of £300m per annum and led commercial teams of up to 80 practitioners.

Steve is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He joined P.P. O’Connor in 2023 and is recognised for his ability to develop high-performing commercial teams, convert major framework opportunities and implement the commercial processes and strategies that support sustainable business growth.

Justin O’Connor

Logistics Director

Having developed skills and expertise through a small construction firm, Justin joined the company 23 years ago to further strengthen the family business, Justin has gained the right experience and accreditations necessary to lead our 110 directly employed operations team. Justin is responsible for site based operations including resourcing, quality, project delivery, value engineering and continuous improvement in both performance and methodology of works.

David Worth

Contracts Director

David has over forty years’ experience in civil engineering and holds full operational responsibility for P.P. O’Connor’s civil engineering teams. His extensive expertise spans all manner of earthworks, water and wastewater supply and treatment. He began his career with a national water-sector contractor, contributing to the early Asset Management Programme cycles from their inception through  AMP4, before spending two decades delivering a diverse range of complex projects with regional contractors.

David is a registered engineer with the Engineering Council and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He joined P.P. O’Connor in 2016 and is recognised for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to delivering high‑quality, technically robust solutions for clients and communities.
