Overview

As members of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors since 2007, PP O’Connor is recognised nationally as a leading contractor in the demolition and deconstruction industry.

Demolition and deconstruction:

We believe the key to safe deconstruction is early engagement and careful planning supported by bespoke risk assessments and method statements. We develop safe systems of work planned and undertaken in compliance with BS6187:2011, carried-out by state-of-the-art, high-tech demolition specific equipment, managed by experienced PP O’Connor personnel.

Our specialist division has demolished a variety of structures including: complex bridges and viaducts; high-rise buildings; industrial and chemical dismantling; explosive engineering; structural alterations and façade retention. These works have been carried out within the energy, petrochemical, infrastructure; education, industrial; residential and commercial sectors.

Deconstruction and dismantling:

Throughout our history, careful deconstruction and dismantling has been at the heart of our operations. We apply best practice and innovation to deliver our client’s requirements in a safe, controlled environment.

Explosive demolition:

To ensure the safe, controlled collapse of large structures using explosive techniques, PP O’Connor has developed long-term partnerships with leading industry experts to ensure minimum impact on the immediate surroundings by providing extensive upfront planning.

Façade retention:

Retaining the architectural heritage is important to the history of cities and towns. PP O’Connor has the capability to design and deliver engineered solutions to enable the robust retention of building facades whilst safely deconstructing and removing the surplus structure.

Decommissioning:

We undertake a full site assessment, identifying any decommissioning requirements especially in both industrial and the petrochemical industry. We work closely with the Environment Agency to develop safe systems of work to minimise and eliminate environmental impact.

Structural alterations:

PP O’Connor’s team of demolition and deconstruction specialists have the expertise and experience to undertake structural separation and alterations whilst maintaining the stability of the buildings to be retained.

Asset recovery:

Our specialist team have the experience to identify and segregate assets correctly, maximising the value and recovery of all redundant assets and materials resulting in best value being delivered to our clients.
