Demolition Estimator/QS
P.P. O’Connor are seeking an experienced Demolition Estimator with a passion to develop their skills by joining our Estimating and Bid Management Team. This opportunity will enable the successful candidate to work closely with more experienced colleagues becoming a valued and senior member of this Department. Initial duties will include but may not be limited to the following activities;

  • Estimating and preparing the cost of demolition tenders using first principles
  • Develop the estimate at a level of detail appropriate to the size and complexity of the project, providing outline method statements in line with the pricing strategy along with assumptions and clarifications
  • Develop initial tender programmes in conjunction with the proposed project team
  • Identify potential cost risks and opportunities within tender submissions
  • Sourcing supplier and sub-contractor quotations
  • Lead the tender submission process, tender preparation and ultimately submit the tender in conjunction with the Bid Management Department
  • Present, discuss and review the tender proposal with the Directors prior to submission. Attendance at post tender negotiations and contract reviews
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Post contract commercial
  • Based at our Head Office in Manchester

Experience of ‘Causeway’ estimating software although not essential would be advantageous, however presentational skills are crucial, as is the ability to be able to meet tight deadlines

Demolition Contracts Manager
P.P. O’Connor are seeking an experienced full time Demolition Contracts Manager to join our demolition team. Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to carrying out the following;

  • Pre tender involvement, offering assistance to Estimating Department including attending pre tender site visits, pricing and running of the contract when awarded.
  • Preparing and compiling all safety method statements, risk assessments, and plans of work, to company procedures and expectations
  • Taking secured contracts from pre award through to successful and safe completion to final account stage.
  • Preparing resource schedules, programming of works, change management and the like
  • Liaison with clients and statutory bodies including the local authority, utility companies
  • Ensure the profitability of contracts delivering them on time and within budget
  • Ensure the company health and safety policies and compliance with current legislation to ensure protection of all employees, stakeholders and the wider public are met.

The successful candidate shall hold;

  • Previous successful track record working as a Demolition Contracts Manager
  • CSCS Black
  • SMSTS
  • Full UK Driving Licence

 


Demolition Site Manager 
P.P. O’Connor are seeking an experienced full time Demolition Site Manager to join our demolition team. Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to carrying out the following activities;

  • Daily management of site activities and supervision and motivation of site operatives
  • Supervision and planning of workload for the site teams.
  • Working to risk assessments and method statements
  • Working to inspection and test plans
  • Implementing health and safety procedures, undertaking safety inspections and ensuring demolition site safety
  • Carrying out daily / weekly reports, completion of toolbox talks, daily activity briefings, site diary and other relevant paperwork
  • Client liaison

The successful candidate will hold;

  • Previous track record working as a demolition site manager
  • CCDO Black (or working towards)
  • SMSTS/SSTS
  • CSCS
  • Demolition Awareness
  • First Aid certificate
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Full UK Driving Licence
